How To Remove Capital Source Object From UI

    Learn how to hide the Capital Source object from UI

    As an admin, you may want to hide the Capital Source object from the system so that the schema/business model can be streamlined. 

    Removing Capital Source Object 

    To remove the Capital Source object from UI, please do the following: 

    1. Clone permission set (if not already cloned) 

    1. Go to Setup -> Permission Sets
    2. Open the AscendixRE Broker permission set 
    3. Click Clone
    4. Input values for Label and API Name 
    5. Click Save  
    6. Open the created permission set 
    7. Open Object Settings -> Capital Sources 
    8. Click Edit 
    9. Remove the Available and Visible permission in Tab Settings 
    10. Disable the Read, Create, Edit and Delete permission in Object Permissions 
    11. In Field Permissions, disable the Read and Edit access for all the fields for which it's possible to do so 
    12. Click Save 
    13. Go back to Object Settings and choose Deal Sources
    14. Click Edit 
    15. In Field Permissions, remove the Read and Edit access for the Capital Source field
    16. Click Save 

    2. Reassign permission sets  

    1. Go to Setup -> Permission Sets 
    2. Choose the permission set you just created
    3. Click Manage Assignments 
    4. Click Add Assignments 
    5. Select users that should not have access to the Capital Source object and click Assign  -> Done 

    3. Remove AscendixRE Broker permission set 

    1. Go to Setup -> Permission Sets 
    2. Choose AscendixRE Broker 
    3. Click Manage Assignments
    4. Select users that should not have access to the Capital Source object 
    5. Click Remove Assignments -> Ok -> Done 

    4. Remove Capital Source field from Deal Sources grid

    1. Go to Setup -> Object Manager 
    2. Go to Deal 
    3. Go to Lightning Record Pages 
    4. Choose AscendixRE Deal - Capital Markets  
    5. Click Clone  
    6. Type values for Label and Developer Name 
    7. Choose the Deal Sources tab and click the Deal Sources component 
    8. In the right part of the page, edit Field Names by removing ascendix__CapitalSource__c; 
    9. Click Save  
    10. Click Activate 
    11. Choose App, Record Type and Profile tab  
    12. Click Assign to Apps, Record Types and Profiles 
    13. Choose the Ascendix app 
    14. Click Next 
    15. Click Next
    16. Choose the Capital Markets Record Type and click Next 
    17. Choose AscendixRE Standard User, AscendixRE Administrator and System Administrator profiles and click Next 
    18. Click Save 

    Note: You should only clone permission sets and Lightning Pages if you haven't cloned the package version yet. The version included in the xRE package can't be edited, which is why it must be cloned. Once cloned, the cloned version can be edited without needing to clone again. 

    Add Capital Source Object

    To undo the changes and add the Capital Source object back to UI, please do the following:

    1. Change record page

    1. Go to Setup -> Object Manager 
    2. Go to Deal 
    3. Go to Lightning Record Pages 
    4. Choose AscendixRE Deal - Capital Markets 
    5. Click View 
    6. Click Activation... 
    7. Choose App, Record Type and Profile tab 
    8. Click Assign to Apps, Record Types and Profiles 
    9. Choose the Ascendix app
    10. Click Next
    11. Click Next
    12. Choose the Capital Markets Record Type and click Next
    13. Choose AscendixRE Standard User, AscendixRE Administrator and System Administrator profiles and click Next
    14. Click Save

    Reassigning Permission Dets 

    1. Add AscendixRE Broker permission set

    1. Go to Setup -> Permission Sets 
    2. Choose AscendixRE Broker
    3. Click Manage Assignments 
    4. Click Add Assignments 
    5. Select users that should have access to the Capital Source object 
    6. Click Assign -> Done

    2. Remove previously added permission set

    1. Go to Setup -> Permission Sets
    2. Choose the permission set 
    3. Click Manage Assignments
    4. Select users that should not have access to the Capital Source object
    5. Click Remove Assignments -> Ok -> Done
