How to Change System of Measurement

Discover the step-by-step process for changing the System on Module (SOM) in your device, including tips for selecting the right replacement and ensuring a smooth transition.

    System of measurement (SOM)

A system of measurement (SOM) is a set of standardized units and rules that define how quantities of various physical properties are measured and expressed. These systems provide a consistent and uniform way of quantifying different attributes such as length, mass, time, temperature, and more.

There are two SOM in AscendixRE:

Imperial system – is a system of measurement that has historical roots and is used primarily in the United States and a few other countries. The Imperial system is characterized by a lack of a consistent base, which means that conversion between units may involve complex conversion factors. Conversion Factor (Land-to-Area) field shows how many square feet are in one acre and equals 43,560.

Metric system - also known as the International System of Units (SI), is a decimal-based system of measurement that is widely used around the world. It is the standard system of measurement in most countries, including in scientific and industrial applications. The metric system is highly decimalized, meaning that unit conversions are based on powers of 10. This makes it easy to convert between different units by moving the decimal point.
A Conversion Factor is a ratio that expresses how many of one unit are equal to another unit. Conversion Factor (Land-to-Area) field shows how many square meters are in one hectare and equals 10,000.
