How To View And Manage Generated Artifacts In One Place?

    Discover how to use the new Composer component to view and manage all generated artifacts in one place.

    This guide explains how to use the new Composer component to view and manage all generated artifacts in one place. Users can sort, filter, download, and delete publication records efficiently.

    Accessing the Generated Artifacts Component

    Navigate to the Component:

    1. Log into the system.
    2. Click on App Launcher
    3. Start typing “Composer”:

    Understanding the Composer Table Layout

    The table in this component displays the following columns for each publication record:

    Publication Name: The name of the generated publication.

    Object Label: The label of the object associated with the publication.

    Generated Date: The date when the publication was generated.

    Generated By: The user who generated the publication.

    Number of Records: The total number of records included in the publication.

    Managing BIRT and Composer Online Publications

    Composer BIRT Button: Click to view only Composer BIRT reports. The button will turn blue when selected.

    Composer Online Button: Click to view only Composer Online reports. The button will turn blue when selected.

    Sorting Publications

    You can sort the table by:

    Publication Name: Click the column header to sort alphabetically.

    Generated Date: Click the column header to sort by date (most recent on top by default).

    Note: Sorting by Object Label, Generated By, and Number of Records is not available due to Composer API limitations.

    Viewing Publications

    For Composer Online publications:

    Default View: The table shows the first 100 publications sorted by the most recent generation date.

    Load More: If there are more than 100 publications, click the “Load More” button at the bottom of the table to load the next 100 records.

    For Composer BIRT publications:

    Default View: The table shows the first 50 publications sorted by the most recent generation date.

    Load More: If there are more than 50 publications, click the “Load More” button at the bottom of the table to load the next 50 records.

    Filtering Publications

    Filters are located above the table and include:

    Publication Name: Use the Quick Find Box to search by publication name.

    Object Name: Use the dropdown menu to select an object. The list is in alphabetical order. The default selection is "All Objects."

    Record Name: Use the lookup field to search for a specific record name.

    The table updates automatically when filters are applied.

    Actions on Publications

    Download as PDF: Select the publication and click the “Download as PDF” button. A spinner will appear while the PDF is being generated. The publication will open in the browser window once ready.

    Delete: Select the publication and click the “Delete” button. The publication will be removed from the Composer publications tab and the related record.

    Refreshing the Table: Click the Refresh button at the top right corner of the component to refresh the table. All changes and updates will be applied.

    Usage Example

    Scenario: You need to find and download the latest publication for “137 New York Avenue.”:

    1. Navigate to the Generated Artifacts component.
    2. Use the Quick Find Box to enter "137 New York Avenue."
    3. Look at the most recent publication in the sorted table.
    4. Click "Download as PDF."
    5. Wait for the spinner to finish, and view the publication in your browser.
